Day 132: Senior Dress-up Day

So much crazy
The kids I dressed up. The girl HATES Frozen. Muahahaha :)
Dora AKA my class president and son (not really he just calls me mom)

Day 131: Making Costumes

This week is senior auction. The kids auction themselves off and their friends/teachers can dress them up however on Friday. It's Thursday, and I have not even started working on my kids costumes because I have been so busy working on the auction part. During advisory, I let one of my students work her magic. Olaf turned out pretty well.

Day 67: Christmas Trees

I love Christmas. Like a lot. This year I decided that I would have 2 small Christmas trees in my classroom and two at home in my one bedroom apartment. I realize that I'm crazy.

Then I found these and it only got worse better.

So, what I decided to do was let the kids decorate the tree every day. The kids (yes, even the boys) were quite excited about decorating my tree with princess ornaments. I let a different class decorate the tree each day.

What I realized is this is something that most of them may not have ever participated in. At my house, Christmas was always a big deal. We decorated the tree as a family every year. My brother and I fought over who got to put the star on the tree when we were little. In my classroom, we're a family. I love them like a mom, and I am doing things with them that I think are important and meaningful, even when it has nothing to do with math. Most of their families don't do things together. A lot of them would rather be at school than at home. So we decorate the tree together, and my 18 year olds can't get enough.

Day 58: We tease each other...often.

I made the kids listen to Frozen, and one student was VERY upset by this in a joking way, of course. I teased her. She teased me back. After class I noticed my board and realized she had won the teasing match for today. Low blow child. #dontmesswithFrozen haha

too far kid. too far.

Day 42: The Desk Art Continues

Today we were working on posters in groups to hang around the classroom as reviews for the test the following day. I have one class in particular that really loves to be off task and draw beautiful pictures on the desk using white board markers. I take pictures of them because they're cool.

Love my Disney Characters

Bae's looking good. And by good I mean one of those scary Bratz dolls.

The posters are what they should have been doing. :)

Day 16: Disney Music Debut

So I kind of like Disney. *understatement of the century*

There's some Disney fun already happening in my room, and the children asked for music today. SO I decided Disney music should make its first appearance. Best. Idea. Ever.

Well, this turned into singing Frozen, and I ended up on Instagram singing Let It Go. This happened between classes, so I wasn't wasting class time being super distracting/making a fool of myself. :)

What's more awesome is that my hair was Elsa like that day.
