We are about to study radians and how that relates to circular motion and its speed. To intro the idea of speed, I had the kids unroll a 100 ft tape measure and try to roll it up at 1 mph. They had to do some conversions, and it was good thinking and movement for them. Once we did one trial, they knew they either needed to speed up or slow down. Some students even calculated it first to see how many seconds it needed to take them to roll up the tape measure.
